Forward Deployed Engineer, Scams

The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), Australia's not-for-profit financial ombudsman, is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer: an embedded, hands-on technical role working directly with business stakeholders, customers and delivery teams to rapidly solve high-value operational challenges for AFCA's Scams Prevention Framework using software, AI, automation and data solutions.

The FDE embeds with users to understand workflows, identify opportunities, design solutions, build prototypes, and translate successful outcomes into scalable enterprise capabilities.

Essential:

• Experience in software, solution, AI or data engineering
• Building and deploying cloud-based applications and integrations
• Experience with AI, automation and workflow technologies
• Agile, DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable: ServiceNow and API integration, generative AI and AI agents, Microsoft Azure and AI services, responsible AI governance and security.

Hybrid: two days a week in the office.
