Staff AI Deployment Engineer, Australia

Altana is the network for trusted trade: an AI-powered product network that helps governments and businesses build a more resilient and secure global economy. Its Implementation team owns the path from signed contract to realized value inside customers' businesses.

What you'll do

• Design, build and deploy agentic AI workflows (multi-step agents, tool and function calling, automations) that act on real customer data.
• Ground agents in customer context: connect data sources, APIs and systems of record, and define tools, permissions and guardrails.
• Write prompts, system instructions and evaluation criteria, and build human-in-the-loop checkpoints for safe, auditable production use.
• Lead customer implementations end to end, from scoping and integration through go-live, adoption and handoff.
• Build API integrations, data handoffs and internal tooling, using AI-assisted development.

What you have

• 8+ years in customer-facing technical delivery (implementation, engineering, professional services or hands-on technical program management).
• A track record of shipping complex technical projects with external stakeholders on real deadlines.
• Strong communication and product instincts, and comfort with ambiguity.

Based in Australia, with flexibility to travel onsite to the Canberra hub.
