Forward Deployed Engineer

Aslan builds AI-driven capability for national security in the digital domain, helping defense, intelligence and federal law enforcement operators find and understand online adversaries. As a Forward Deployed Engineer you embed with customers (intelligence analysts, targeting officers, federal agents) and write production code that makes the platform solve their specific mission.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customers and write production code for their operational problems
• Build custom integrations, mission-specific agent configurations, tailored analytics and operator-facing workflows
• Debug agent behavior in live operational environments and fix it with code
• Bring patterns from deployments back to the core engineering team as product insights

What you bring

• 3+ years of software engineering shipping production code
• Full-stack generalist instincts: backend services, data pipelines, agent configuration, UI
• Working knowledge of AI/ML systems and agent behavior
• Self-directed; DMV-based and willing to travel to customer sites regularly for extended periods

Bonus

• Experience embedded at customer sites, with AI agent / LLM systems in production, or in classified, IC or government environments
• Active, recent or eligibility for a U.S. security clearance (TS preferred)
