Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

A pre-launch company in the Atomic venture studio: a stealth holding company acquiring and operating software businesses in overlooked, mission-critical industries and rebuilding them as AI-native. Small, well-capitalized, with real customers and revenue.

You'll own:

• Building the industry-specific reasoning layer that encodes each vertical's domain expertise
• Embedding AI-native agents directly into the system of record (core workflow replacement, not bolt-on chatbots)
• Migrating legacy system-of-record datasets into new AI-native ones
• A repeatable playbook, model stack, eval harness and infra for every portfolio company
• Player-coaching AI engineers embedded at each operating company (90% building, 10% managing)

What you'll do: ship a domain-specific agent into a live customer environment in your first 30 days, build eval infrastructure, fine-tune/distill/route across frontier and open models, and sit with customers on site to instrument and rebuild their workflows.

You: a builder and forward-deployed engineer with production experience building AI/LLM harnesses connecting models to customer data, tools, APIs and workflows, with evaluation, observability and guardrails, using Claude, GPT, Gemini and open models.
