Forward Deployed Engineer

Base is building a network of distributed home batteries to make the grid resilient. As it launches state by state, Base is hiring a forward deployed engineer to embed with the teams and partners behind each launch (growth, deployments and utilities) and build whatever it takes, from partner integrations to BaseOS to battery firmware. In-person role.

What you'll do

• Learn how work really gets done alongside a team or partner, and decide what to build versus fix with process.
• Build end-to-end software: integrations, internal tools, workflows, data pipelines and partner-facing products.
• Ship prototypes fast, then harden what works so other teams can rely on it.
• Work with utility partners on grid constraints and data, and stand up the integrations and workflows each new market needs.

What you bring

• 2+ years building production software in product or full-stack engineering roles.
• Strong frontend and full-stack skills across web apps, APIs, data models and stateful UX.
• Strong product judgment and experience in 0-to-1, fast-moving environments.
