Forward Deployed Engineer

Capgemini is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer with full-stack Java, AI/ML engineering and generative AI expertise to design, build, deploy and scale production-grade AI-powered applications and intelligent automation with business and operations stakeholders. Location: Jersey City, NJ.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and deploy production-grade AI/ML solutions using traditional ML, LLMs, agentic AI, RAG and workflow automation.
• Build backend services, APIs and microservices in Java/Python with MongoDB, Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Develop AI agents using tool calling, MCP, prompt engineering, guardrails and evaluation frameworks.
• Analyze operational data with SQL, Spark and Databricks; prototype, deploy, measure and scale solutions with operations teams.

What you bring

• 8–10 years in software engineering, ML or data engineering, with 3–5 years designing and deploying agentic and generative AI solutions.
• Strong Java and/or Python with REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
• MongoDB, Kafka, Spark, Databricks; experience supporting production AI/ML at enterprise scale.
