Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Capgemini is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer in Sydney to lead AI engagements with financial services clients, using consulting experience and spec-driven development to drive AI adoption in highly regulated enterprises. Ideally you are based in Sydney or Melbourne with Australian work rights.

What you'll do

• Advise C-level stakeholders at large financial services clients on AI and lead consulting engagements.
• Build, tune and evaluate agents hands-on (tool and function calling, controls and identity, multi-step orchestration, knowledge design), coding in languages such as Python, C++, C#.NET and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Work within an AI governance, risk and compliance framework, and define and track delivery value through metrics.
• Build and maintain a versioned shared library of skills, rules, prompts, spec templates, checks and patterns.
• Deliver through AI-assisted, spec-driven, pull-request-based workflows, and coach client staff on AI adoption.

What they're looking for

• Understanding of banking or insurance regulatory obligations; Azure or AWS; JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, VS Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Ideally: InnerSource, APRA standards such as CPS 230 and CPS 234, AI platform and control plane design, LLMOps and observability, and prior forward deployed experience embedded with a client.
