AI Forward Deployed Engineer

ECI is seeking an AI Forward Deployed Engineer to help investment firms, including hedge funds, private equity firms, investment banks, and family offices, put AI to work in their businesses. This hands-on, client-facing engineering role identifies high-value opportunities and then builds, deploys, and drives adoption of production solutions.

The role requires 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience and runs defined workstreams within client engagements, working with a Senior FDE. It is hybrid in New York, with regular work at client sites in the New York area and occasional travel.

What you'll do:

• Run defined workstreams within AI client engagements, working directly with client business and technical teams.
• Map client workflows and identify where AI can save time, reduce risk, or improve quality across research, deal flow, trading, portfolio management, risk, and fund operations.
• Build and deploy AI agents, integrations, and workflows using TypeScript or Python, ECI platforms, AI coding tools, Azure AI Foundry, and Microsoft 365.
• Integrate solutions with client systems, APIs, documents, and data, handling authentication, permissions, data isolation, and audit trails.
• Design evaluations using client examples and apply automated checks and human review before solutions reach production.
