Lead - AI Forward Deployed Lead Engineer

Farmers Insurance is hiring a Lead AI Forward Deployed Engineer in its AI Center of Excellence (AI & Automation team), focused on IT and systems AI in support of Farmers' core SDLC functions.

What you'll do

• Act as the primary AI partner for IT and business teams, turning opportunities into a sequenced portfolio of AI initiatives with clear outcomes and success measures.
• Lead multiple AI initiatives from concept through production, partnering with engineering, architecture, data, security and governance teams.
• Drive adoption of Spec-Driven Development and AI-assisted engineering practices; design robust technical solutions and work with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines.
• Build reusable AI delivery assets: playbooks, patterns, evaluation frameworks, CI/CD standards and production-readiness checklists.
• Coach engineers, architects and product owners on AI technologies and modern engineering practices.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering or similar; 9+ years in solution engineering, software development or systems architecture.
• Experience with Agile teams, software architecture and design patterns, CI/CD, version control and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Insurance industry experience preferred.

Hybrid (3 days in office within 50 miles of a Farmers corporate office) or remote. Pay ranges vary by state, from $137,775 up to $262,000 (WA), plus bonus.
