KPMG is hiring a Director, Forward Deployed Engineer to join its Clients, Technology & Innovation (CT&I) organization: a hands-on engineering leader who writes production code daily while scaling enterprise AI delivery.
What you'll do:
- Define technical standards with leadership and scale engineering delivery across EdgeCos, account teams and industry teams.
- Ship production-ready code and own the most complex, high-priority production challenges.
- Grow the library of reusable assets and accelerators, championing tools like Claude Code, Cursor and Lovable where permitted.
- Enforce enterprise production standards: context engineering, golden sets, evaluation frameworks, regression harnesses and secure, auditable code.
- Lead executive working sessions with CIOs, CISOs and CFOs, and mentor managers, senior associates and pod leads.
- Architect pipelines that route data between LLMs for generative tasks and deterministic, rules-based models.
What you'll need:
- 10+ years building and operating secure, end-to-end production data, ML and AI-native applications on Azure, AWS or GCP.
- 5+ years leading engineering teams in a startup-velocity environment; founder or early-stage experience is a strong plus.
- STEM bachelor's degree or twelve years of equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of frontier models, agent frameworks and Model Context Protocol; full-stack skills in Python, Go, Rust or Java.
- A verifiable portfolio, GitHub repository or code walk-through; ability to travel domestically.
