Forward Deployed Engineer

LEO Software Group (Vela / Constellation Software) is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to redesign core business functions around AI across its portfolio of software businesses. Each engineer owns one function end-to-end across multiple portfolio companies.

What you will do

• Find the simplest path to the outcome: establish a baseline, ship a first working version within days, and invest further based on feedback.
• Connect operational systems, documents, and conversations so agents have accurate business context (identities, provenance, permissions; ontologies/knowledge graphs where useful).
• Build agent harnesses for multi-step, multi-tool work with durable state, recovery, and clear completion criteria.
• Make evaluation part of development: real-task evals, execution traces, and production failures as regression cases.
• Ship to production yourself—integrations, access controls, monitoring, failure recovery—and own adoption until business metrics move.
• Turn working patterns into reusable software so later deployments get faster without more FDE headcount.

What you bring

• You have personally taken software (including with current AI tools) from an ambiguous problem to a live system people use.
• Depth in applied AI engineering: connecting models to business data/tools, retrieval, agent orchestration, evaluation, and production reliability.
• Ownership of business outcomes and the ability to operate independently with users and stakeholders.
