Microsoft Frontier Co. is a new customer-outcome-driven line of business in MCAPS. As a Forward Deployed Engineer (Software Engineering IC2) you'll be embedded with customers, working in small cross-functional teams to rapidly design, build and deploy AI-powered, production-grade applications, data solutions and software systems. 25-50% travel; Microsoft cannot sponsor a work visa for this role.
What you'll do:
- Partner with customers to understand business challenges, define success criteria and translate needs into technical solutions.
- Design, build, test, deploy and operate secure, reliable, scalable production software that applies AI and data capabilities.
- Move rapidly from concept to prototype to production, iterating alongside customers.
- Apply code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and security-first development.
- Contribute reusable components and reference implementations, and feed deployment learnings back to Microsoft product teams.
