Forward Deployed Engineer

MISO (Midcontinent Independent System Operator), which runs the power grid and energy market for much of the central US, is hiring a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer to turn its most important business challenges into production-ready AI solutions. Working side by side with domain experts, you'll design, build and deploy intelligent applications and agents and own the lifecycle from problem discovery through production adoption.

What you'll do:

• Build and support production AI applications, agents, copilots, retrieval pipelines, APIs and automation.
• Translate business workflows into technical solutions with domain experts.
• Establish evaluation, safety and governance practices and build reusable AI components within enterprise standards.
• Transfer knowledge so internal teams can operate and extend the solutions.

Requirements: 15+ years across software, data, AI/ML engineering, solution architecture or product engineering with hands-on production AI/ML delivery; deep Python and strong SQL; enterprise integrations, ideally on Microsoft Azure; cloud-native engineering, CI/CD, testing, observability and containers; applied generative AI, agent orchestration, RAG and AI evaluation.
