Forward Deployed Engineer

Newpage Solutions is a global digital health innovation company that partners with pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare organisations to build AI and data-driven technologies.

Newpage is hiring Forward Deployed Engineers who treat AI as the medium they build software in. You will sit close to clients and product leaders, reframe vague problems into something concrete, and ship working software end-to-end, from idea to production. This is a builder-first individual-contributor role working with Claude Code, Cursor, agents, eval harnesses, MCP, and modern TypeScript and Python.

What you'll do:

• Work with business or clinical leaders to turn ideas into buildable problems, with a working prototype by the end of the week.
• Build modular Python/TypeScript backends, fullstack apps, APIs, agents and workflows (Next.js, React, FastAPI, FastMCP, Hono).
• Ship production-grade agentic applications (LangGraph, AutoGen, Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Assistants) and integrate LLMs via MCP and custom connectors.
• Apply RAG with vector databases and hybrid retrieval where it helps; design prompt and context engineering frameworks.
• Spin up infra, write evals and deploy on AWS, Azure, Cloudflare or Vercel with Docker/Kubernetes or serverless and CI/CD.
• Own what you build end-to-end and mentor others on agentic patterns and AI engineering.

Requirements: 3+ years building production applications with AI/agentic approaches; hands-on agent experience; strong Python or TypeScript; vector databases, retrieval pipelines and eval harnesses; cloud-native deployment; a recent trail of built work; a Bachelor's or Master's in CS, ML or a related field.
