Forward Deployed Engineer

Nexon Asia Pacific, an Australian digital consulting and managed services partner, is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work embedded inside customers' businesses. You'll find the agentic AI use cases that matter most, then build agents, deploy them and oversee them in production, taking customers from "we should do something with AI" to agents delivering measurable results.

What you'll do

• Work on site with customer teams to map processes and pinpoint where agents can create value.
• Redesign processes around what agents and people each do best, then size, prioritise and present a use-case roadmap to customer leadership.
• Design and build production-grade agents and multi-agent workflows, integrate them with customer systems through APIs, MCP and connectors, and prove quality with evals before go-live.
• Own the health, cost, guardrails and business outcomes of agents in production.
• Drive adoption and turn solutions into reusable assets for Nexon's Agent Factory.

What they're looking for

• 5+ years in software engineering, solutions engineering, automation or technical consulting, including shipping AI agents or LLM applications to production.
• Strong agent design skills: tool use, orchestration, memory, RAG, MCP integration, human-in-the-loop design and evaluation.
• Experience with at least one agent framework, such as LangGraph, the Claude Agent SDK, the OpenAI Agents SDK or Copilot Studio.
• Confidence redesigning business processes and working directly with customers from frontline staff to executives.

Full-time, hybrid role in Melbourne.
