Salesforce Forward Deployed Engineer

SMBHD is a Chicago Salesforce consulting firm of about 30 people serving small and mid-market businesses, with two AppExchange apps and deep work in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Field Service, Experience Cloud and integrations. Delivery runs in pods of three to four engineers that own a client engagement end to end, and engineers direct AI to produce most of the configuration and code.

The role (internally called Process Forward Engineer; hiring at PFE and Senior PFE levels)

• Run discovery sessions and workshops with client stakeholders and turn messy business problems into buildable solutions.
• Design and deliver on the platform with Flow, Agentforce, configuration and code; direct AI to produce the build, then read, test and own it.
• Design integrations between Salesforce and client systems and own data migrations.
• Deliver training, drive adoption, demo work weekly and scope new work as engagements grow.

What you bring

• 2–5 years delivering Salesforce solutions (Senior: 5+ years leading implementations end to end).
• Hands-on Flow and declarative configuration; working knowledge of Apex and LWC.
• Client-facing discovery experience, plus integration and data migration work (REST APIs, middleware, data loading).
• Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, business or related; based in the Chicago area and able to work from the office.
