10 companies posted their first Forward Deployed Engineer roles between 6 and 9 October

Between Tuesday 6 October and Friday 9 October 2026, Nextmove recorded ten companies posting a Forward Deployed Engineer role for the first time on the boards it tracks. Named employers include Ascend, Column, Extreme Networks, Flint, FriendliAI, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Ingram Micro, Lunos AI and Prodigal, spanning AI inference, networking, distribution and founding FDE seats.

Examples on the list range from Column's San Francisco FDE reporting into a growth-stage bank stack, Extreme Networks' Staff Forward Deployed Engineer in Seattle, FriendliAI's inference-focused FDE, HPE's FDE/SRE-flavoured senior systems role in Bengaluru, Ingram Micro's Microsoft AI FDE in Irvine, and Lunos AI's founding FDE across New York and London.

First-time FDE postings are a useful hiring signal for the job board: they show the title moving into distributors, networking vendors and smaller AI product companies, not only the usual lab and data-platform employers.
