Ampersand raises $15M Series A and will hire forward-deployed experts for agent integrations

Ampersand, which builds integration infrastructure so enterprise AI agents can read and write in CRMs and ERPs, raised a $15 million Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners and plans to hire forward-deployed staff for pre-sales and implementations.

San Francisco startup Ampersand announced a $15 million Series A on 6 October, led by Bessemer Venture Partners with Matrix, Flex Capital, Yelp, Tenacity Capital, CTO Fund and Mana Ventures taking part. The company builds the plumbing that lets AI agents work inside systems of record like CRMs and ERPs, and it released a beta of Andi, an agent that helps developers with per-customer integration work.

Ampersand lists forward-deployed expertise as part of what it sells. Co-founder Ayan Barua told Founderland the new money will expand ERP coverage beyond NetSuite, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics, and pay for forward-deployed experts who handle pre-sales and customer implementations. The company had 22 people at the time of the round.

Why it matters for FDEs: connecting agents to messy enterprise systems is one of the hardest parts of real deployments, and it's exactly the work FDEs do on site. Ampersand is a small, early team, so its first forward-deployed hires would likely shape how the role works there.
