Anthropic’s board shows only three FDE titles among 645 roles, with London FDE pay at £225K–£255K
A October 12 read of Anthropic’s Greenhouse board found 645 live roles but only three individual Forward Deployed Engineer postings (London, Paris, Munich). In the US the same work mostly sits under Applied AI Engineer titles, while a New York FDE manager role posts $320K–$405K.
On October 12, Hayat Amin went through every live posting on Anthropic’s public Greenhouse board. Of 645 roles, only three individual jobs carried the Forward Deployed Engineer title—in London, Paris and Munich. Twenty-nine postings mentioned forward deployed engineers somewhere in the text.
The London FDE posting puts the job on the Applied AI team, asks for production Claude work including MCP servers, sub-agents and agent skills, and lists 25–50% travel. Its base band is £225,000 to £255,000. Paris and Munich publish no band. In the US there is no individual FDE title; the hands-on work appears under Applied AI Engineer, Enterprise Tech ($200,000–$320,000, occasional travel), while Manager, Forward Deployed Engineering in New York posts $320,000–$405,000 and says there is no existing playbook.
The analysis also separates Anthropic’s own FDE hires from Claude Frontier Academy’s partner-side “Frontier Deployed Engineer” badge, and notes a GTM Strategy & Operations, FDE role ($270,000–$310,000) that says demand is already ahead of team capacity. For candidates, the practical takeaway is to search Applied AI as well as FDE when watching Anthropic, and not to confuse the partner academy with a path onto Anthropic’s payroll.
