Augury plans to grow its forward deployed engineering team to 25–30 in Bengaluru

Industrial AI company Augury says it will expand its FDE team from about six people to 25–30 over the next two months, tying engagements to outcome-based pricing for manufacturers.

Augury, the New York-based industrial AI company, is building out a forward deployed engineering team at its new Bengaluru engineering hub, which it opened on October 15. Its chief product and technology officer, Anoop Mohan, told Analytics India Magazine the team has around six FDEs today and is targeting 25–30 within the next two months.

The FDEs will adapt Augury's AI agents for reliability, maintenance and plant operations to the realities of individual factories. Augury plans to send teams of an industrial subject-matter expert, a general engineer and a data engineer to work with a customer over 90 days, and Mohan said customers only pay when there is an outcome.

For FDEs, the notable part is the hiring bar: Augury says it will start with lateral hires with three to six years of experience, and Mohan said you cannot be an FDE without understanding the industrial domain and how the product integrates with plant systems. It is another sign that FDE demand is spreading from AI labs into vertical, physical-world AI companies, with India as a growing hiring base.
