Cloudflare’s Nov 5 FDE board: nine engineer seats, Bay Area Senior $194K–$266K, Terraform and Rust tracks

A 5 November FDE Dispatch read of Cloudflare’s Greenhouse board found nine Forward Deployed engineer seats—base, Professional Services, Senior and Infrastructure—with Hybrid or Distributed labels, Bay Area Senior/Infrastructure base at $194,000–$266,000, and stacks that split Terraform/Workers from TypeScript/Rust/Go.

FDE Dispatch’s 5 November guide, from a 3 November snapshot and a 5 November Greenhouse live check, counts nine Cloudflare FDE-family postings—all engineer titles—tied for 12th of 114 employers with Chalk, Saronic and Snowflake. Tracks cover base Forward Deployed Engineer (Hybrid US multi-city), Professional Services FDE (Distributed Munich and London), Senior FDE (Austin, Sydney, Sweden, San Francisco, plus a London Senior that closed on the live check), and Senior Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer (Hybrid San Francisco / Austin).

Years and stack split by track. Base FDE asks for 10+ years of technical customer-facing experience and leans on Terraform, Application Security and Cloudflare Workers. Senior seats ask for 7+ years of professional software engineering and name TypeScript, Rust and Go/Golang. Infrastructure asks for SRE or production-engineering background with Go, Python or Rust plus Terraform, Ansible, Salt and Kubernetes exposure. Professional Services seats use Solutions Architect / TAM language without a numeric years line.

Posted pay on the snapshot includes US base FDE at $184,000–$253,000 for NYC/NJ, Bay Area Senior and Infrastructure at $194,000–$266,000, and Munich Professional Services at €123,000–€169,000 including on-target incentive under a sales compensation plan. Sweden Senior posts SEK 760,000–1,240,000 on the live board. None of the nine counted as remote under the site’s locations method. Eight of nine snapshot seats were still listed on 5 November.

For FDEs, Cloudflare’s board is unusual for splitting a classic Professional Services/Terraform path from a Developer Relations Senior path that still writes production TypeScript and Rust—read the track before you prep the loop.
