Confido Health raises a $12.5M Series A extension; lead investor Z47 credits its forward deployed engineers

NYC healthcare AI startup Confido Health announced $22.5M in total Series A funding, including a $12.5M extension led by Z47, to expand CareOS. Z47 says the platform plus Confido's forward-deployed engineers is what lets its AI agents fit into each provider's patchwork of systems.

Confido Health, a New York company that builds AI agents for healthcare operations, announced on October 14, 2026 that it has raised $22.5 million in total Series A funding. That total includes a new $12.5 million extension led by Z47 (formerly Matrix Partners India), with healthcare private equity investor Justin Saks joining as an investor and board advisor, and existing investors Together Fund and Blume Ventures also taking part. Fierce Healthcare reports that the extension follows a $10 million Series A announced in September and was actually completed in February.

The money will go toward expanding CareOS, Confido's agent platform, across multi-site provider groups, many of them backed by private equity. CareOS connects to more than 50 systems of record, including EHRs, practice management, phone, billing, and fax, to handle scheduling, insurance verification, billing, and patient outreach. The company reports 15x growth since its last round, AI handle rates above 95% on key front-office workflows, and a footprint of more than 1,500 care sites in 27 states.

Z47's Vikram Vaidyanathan said every provider runs on a different patchwork of systems, and that CareOS "along with forward-deployed engineers" is what makes deployment seamless. Confido's own careers page describes the team as including an "army" of forward deployed engineers.

Why it matters for FDEs: Healthcare AI vendors are putting FDEs at the center of how they deliver, because integrating with each customer's legacy systems is the hard part. Investors now point to that deployment layer as a reason to back a company. For engineers, it signals ongoing demand for FDEs who can handle EHR and practice-management integrations as well as the agents themselves.
