Devoteam plans 300+ forward deployed engineers in 2026 and launches an FDE certification
European consultancy Devoteam is scaling its FDE practice across EMEA, backed by AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft, and starts the first 20-engineer cohort of its FDE Foundation program on 12 October.
Devoteam, a tech consulting firm specializing in AI, cloud, data and cybersecurity, says it is accelerating its Forward Deployed Engineering practice and will embed squads of engineers and AI agents directly in clients' business units to move pilots into production.
The firm says it is on track to field more than 300 FDEs in 2026. That push is backed by a five-year strategic collaboration agreement with AWS to scale FDE work across EMEA, an FDE program with Google Cloud to certify its engineers over the next 12 months, and its selection as a Frontier Partner in Microsoft's FDE ecosystem. It is also launching FDE Foundation by Devoteam, which it calls the first FDE certification program from a European consulting firm; the first cohort of 20 engineers starts on 12 October 2026.
For FDEs, especially in Europe, this adds a large consulting employer to the market and a formal training path into the role. It also shows how the big cloud vendors are building FDE capacity through partners rather than only in-house.
