Dimension NXG launches OJAS Forward Deployed Engineering for hospital AI on-site
On 7 November 2026 Mumbai deep-tech firm Dimension NXG (AjnaLens) opened OJAS Forward Deployed Engineering, embedding engineers inside hospitals in India, the US and the Gulf to run clinical AI behind the hospital’s own firewall ahead of India’s May 2027 data-protection deadline.
Dimension NXG (DNXG), the Mumbai company behind AjnaLens, announced on 7 November 2026 the launch of OJAS Forward Deployed Engineering. The new division places engineers inside hospitals, health systems and government health programmes to take clinical AI from pilot into everyday use, starting with multiple engineers based in Mumbai and serving India, the United States and the Gulf.
The timing is tied to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Rules: notified 13 November 2025, they require full compliance by 13 May 2027. OJAS FDE’s pitch is on-prem deployment—models and workflows run on the hospital’s infrastructure, behind its firewall, with access controls and logs for the hospital’s compliance team, rather than shipping patient data to an outside cloud.
On-site teams work with clinicians, IT and compliance; deploy OJAS models for clinical documentation, dermatology and metabolic health plus custom workflows; connect to existing hospital systems; and keep a doctor’s approval before anything enters a patient record. Engagements start in one department and expand after results. CEO Pankaj Raut said hospitals struggle less to find AI than to make it work inside their own walls with their own data and people. For FDEs, this is another vertical vendor standing up an embedded deployment function—healthcare’s version of the production-last-mile role labs and enterprise vendors have been hiring for.
