Duvo raises a $32M Series A and bets that the product, not forward-deployed engineers, should do enterprise AI deployment

Duvo, the enterprise AI automation company founded by Rohlik's Tomáš Čupr, raised a $32M Series A led by Balderton Capital on October 14. Čupr told Tech.eu that enterprises will eventually question paying for dozens or hundreds of engineers working inside their organisations, and that Duvo wants its software to handle process discovery and deployment instead.

Duvo announced a $32 million Series A on October 14, led by Balderton Capital with Index Ventures, Northzone and Credo Ventures participating, bringing its total funding to $48 million. The company, founded by Rohlik Group CEO Tomáš Čupr, sells an enterprise "operating system" that sits on top of ERP systems, supplier portals, spreadsheets and inboxes, and counts Morrisons, Holland & Barrett, Boden, Notino and Allegro among its customers. About 70 people work there today, and most of the new money is going to sales, marketing and partnerships as it expands into the US.

What makes the round notable for FDEs is how openly Čupr positions Duvo against the forward-deployed model. In an interview with Tech.eu he said many AI companies rely on engineers embedded inside customer organisations to learn their processes and implement the technology, and argued that enterprises will eventually question the sustainability of paying for dozens or hundreds of them. Duvo's answer is a tool called Duvo Clarity, which uses AI interviews with employees, screen recordings and existing documents to map how work actually happens, after which agents build the automations. "We want the product itself to do the work," he said.

For people in or eyeing FDE roles, this is the main counter-argument to the hiring boom: the discovery, integration and exception-handling that FDEs do today is exactly what vendors like Duvo are trying to productise. It is worth noting that Duvo still plans to work with consulting firms such as Deloitte, BCG and Bain, which suggests the hands-on deployment work moves around rather than disappears. Whether the product-led approach wins will show up in renewals, which Čupr himself flagged as the real test for agentic AI vendors.
