Etched, FactSet, Buildkite and Alkami among 6 companies that posted their first FDE roles Oct 23-27

Six more companies have started hiring forward deployed engineers, according to Nextmove's tracker of first-time FDE employers, which covers October 23 to 27, 2026. They are Alkami Technology, Buildkite, Etched, FactSet, Inventing for Life and Reveal Technology.

The new postings range widely. Alkami Technology listed a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (US remote), Buildkite a Forward Deployed Engineer on US Pacific time, AI chip maker Etched a Forward Deployment Engineer in San Jose, and Reveal Technology a Forward Deployed Engineer in the UK. Two are in Hyderabad: FactSet's AI Foundry BU Deployed Engineer and an Associate Director, Forward Deployed Engineering role at Inventing for Life.

Nextmove only counts a company when it had been reading that company's job board for at least 30 days before the first FDE-titled posting, so the list reflects new hiring decisions rather than wider coverage. Over the last eight full weeks, 9 to 17 companies a week posted their first forward deployed role, with a median of 13.

For FDE job seekers, the list shows the title spreading beyond AI labs into fintech software, developer tooling, chips and financial data, and a first posting is often the earliest sign a company is building a team. Nextmove notes that a single posting is one opening, not proof of a full team.
