fal doubles its valuation to $16B with a $1.3B Series F as it hires forward deployed engineers

AI inference platform fal raised $1.3B in a Bessemer-led Series F at a $16B valuation, double its April mark, and is hiring a Principal/Senior Forward Deployed Engineer in San Francisco at $180K–$250K plus equity.

fal, the San Francisco startup that hosts and runs AI video, image and audio models, has raised $1.3 billion in a Series F led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with Nvidia, Sound Ventures and T. Rowe Price participating, TechCrunch reported on November 3 citing Bloomberg. The round values fal at $16 billion, double its $8 billion valuation in April, and the company said its Series E and F together raised $1.65 billion.

Bloomberg reported that fal passed $800 million in annualized revenue earlier this year, as demand for inference on open-source models keeps climbing. Rivals such as Baseten, Fireworks AI and Modal are also raising large rounds.

Why it matters for FDEs: fal is hiring a Principal/Senior Forward Deployed Engineer in San Francisco, listed at $180K–$250K plus equity. The role owns enterprise deployments on fal's Serverless platform, helping customers integrate, scale and operate generative-media workloads and turning their feedback into product requirements. Inference platforms growing this fast need engineers who can sit with large customers and get workloads into production.
