First Recon AI launches a services practice with forward-deployed engineering as its flagship, pairing AI builds with security

On October 15, AI security vendor First Recon AI launched Consulting & Professional Services. Its flagship offering embeds engineers and strategists inside client organizations to build custom AI and agents in the client's own environment and take the first use case into production, with security built in from the start.

First Recon AI, the Phoenix-based company behind the Secure Enterprise AI Workspace and its AI Security Runtime platform, announced a new Consulting & Professional Services practice on October 15. The practice embeds senior AI and cybersecurity practitioners inside enterprises, with client leadership setting priorities and First Recon AI's teams owning implementation.

Forward-Deployed Engineering is the flagship of five launch offerings. It places engineers and strategists in the client's organization to develop custom AI and agents inside the client's own environment and get the first use case into production. The other offerings are AI and cybersecurity consulting, a Chief AI Officer as a Service, managed AI governance with monthly reviews and quarterly executive briefs, and continuous threat exposure management. The company says projects are led only by senior AI experts, which limits how many engagements it takes on, and that client teams work alongside it so they can maintain and extend the work after the engagement ends.

For FDEs, this is another sign that security and governance vendors, not just model labs and hyperscalers, now sell embedded engineering as a product. It also shows where the job is heading in regulated settings: the forward-deployed engineer is expected to ship the first production use case with security controls designed in from day one, not bolted on after the demo.
