GROWTH VERSE is embedding forward deployed engineers in Mizuho's in-house AI development lab
Tokyo-based GROWTH VERSE says its FDEs helped Mizuho Financial Group build and release "Mizuho Cowork", a secure autonomous AI agent platform, in three months, and that its embedded team has since grown to three times its original size.
GROWTH VERSE announced on October 20 that it has been working as a forward deployed engineering partner inside Mizuho Financial Group's in-house development lab, a unit that builds AI products for Mizuho while supporting in-house development across the group. The company joined the project in spring 2026.
According to the announcement, its engineers helped build "Mizuho Cowork", an autonomous AI agent platform designed to meet a bank's security and governance requirements, and released it internally after a three-month build. The platform was also presented at AWS Summit. The team also built a shared authentication and authorization service intended for future internal products, and GROWTH VERSE says it has expanded its staffing on the engagement to three times the original level.
Why it matters for FDEs: this is another sign that the forward deployed model is spreading from AI labs to services firms working inside heavily regulated customers. In banking, the job is less about demos and more about shipping agents under strict controls, which makes engineers who can pair fast delivery with governance especially valuable.
