Jiuzhoutong investor filing says Haizhi Technology will embed forward deployed engineers in its pharma distribution business
In an investor relations record dated Oct 29, Chinese pharmaceutical distributor Jiuzhoutong (600998.SH) said its AI partner Beijing Haizhi Technology will station forward deployed engineers (FDEs) on the front line of its business to capture tacit industry knowledge and turn it into reusable ontology models, skill libraries and scenario components.
Jiuzhoutong Pharmaceutical Group, one of China's largest drug distributors, published an investor relations activity record on October 29 covering an October 27 meeting with 24 institutions. Asked about its partnership with Beijing Haizhi Technology Group, a graph-intelligence and large-model company it signed a deal with on October 9, the company said Haizhi will send forward deployed engineers (FDEs) into Jiuzhoutong's frontline operations.
According to the filing, those FDEs will help map the tacit knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution business and compile it into reusable ontology models, skill libraries and scenario components, as part of a joint flagship AI project for the industry. The wider partnership also covers a unified business semantic model across Jiuzhoutong's data and supply chain, and joint work on industry AI scenarios. The filing gives no headcount, timeline or contract value for the FDE work.
Why it matters: it is a concrete example of the FDE model spreading into China's traditional industries, written into a listed company's investor disclosure rather than a vendor marketing post. The job description is also a clear picture of the role outside the US AI labs: engineers sitting inside a customer's operations, turning undocumented domain know-how into reusable assets, so the next deployment does not start from zero.
