KaarTech says it has 500+ forward deployed engineers and will move all employees into FDE roles by March 2027

Launching its KEOS enterprise AI operating layer on October 27, Chennai-based SAP and enterprise transformation firm KaarTech said it had more than 500 FDEs as of October 2026 and plans to move 100% of its roughly 3,000-person workforce into FDE roles by March 2027.

KaarTech, a Chennai-headquartered enterprise transformation firm with more than 3,000 staff in 15 locations, announced KEOS on October 27. KEOS is an "operating layer for enterprise intelligence" that combines enterprise discovery, an ontology and knowledge graph, a context store and an agent factory for running governed AI agents. It ships as four offerings, including AI agents embedded across the SAP Activate lifecycle.

The FDE detail is in the delivery model. KaarTech says it supports KEOS adoption through forward deployed engineers, with more than 500 FDEs as of October 2026, and plans to move 100% of its employees into FDE roles by March 2027.

Why it matters for FDEs: this is one of the most aggressive relabelling plans yet from an IT services firm. It follows TCS, Infosys and HCLTech in recasting delivery staff as FDEs. Job seekers looking at services-firm FDE roles should check whether the job means writing production code inside client systems or is classic implementation work under a new title.
