AI app builder Lovable started hiring founding Staff Forward Deployed Engineers and FDE Leads in London, New York, San Francisco and Boston in October, placing the team in engineering rather than sales, according to an Oct 31 analysis of its job board by FDE Talent.
Lovable, the Stockholm-based AI app builder, began hiring the founding members of a Forward Deployed Engineering function in October 2026. An Oct 31 analysis by FDE Talent, built on snapshots of Lovable's public job board, counts four open roles: a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer and a Forward Deployed Engineering Lead, each in London and in the US (New York, San Francisco or Boston). A Stockholm FDE Lead listing came down at the end of the month. Lovable's Oct 29 announcement of its London office also lists forward-deployed engineering among the teams based there.
The US listings publish pay ranges: $199K-$325K plus equity for the Staff FDE (8+ years of production software experience, up to 50% travel) and $241K-$390.5K plus equity for the Lead (12+ years, including leading teams). The London listings show no range. All four sit under EPD / Enterprise Engineering, separate from Lovable's Solutions Architect role in its GTM / Revenue org, and the hiring loop ends with candidates showing something they built.
Why it matters for FDEs: the hiring follows Lovable's October enterprise push (deploying apps inside customers' own AWS or Azure accounts, EU inference, and admin policies), and the job description frames the role as getting prototypes into production behind customers' real data and security reviews, then turning those lessons into platform features. FDE Talent notes that Lovable's experience bar is higher than comparable FDE listings at Replit, Vercel and Figma (5-6+ years). It's another sign that tools that let anyone build apps still need senior full-stack engineers on site to get those apps into production.
