NAVER Cloud will send forward deployed engineers into the Korean Army's logistics command to build AI agents

NAVER Cloud signed an MOU with the Republic of Korea Army Logistics Command on Oct 30 to jointly develop and test AI for military procurement, predictive maintenance and digital-twin logistics. FDEs sent directly to the field will build agents that automate repetitive logistics work and scout new AI projects from logistics data.

NAVER Cloud said on November 2 that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Army Logistics Command in Daejeon on October 30 to bring AI into military logistics, from procuring supplies to maintaining weapons systems.

The two sides plan to jointly develop and test AI services that can be used in real operations, starting with an AI procurement platform that matches requirements to suitable products, a condition-based maintenance (CBM+) system that predicts weapons-system failures from status data, and digital-twin smart logistics. NAVER Cloud will also advise on GPU infrastructure and help build a logistics-specific cloud.

The FDE angle is explicit: NAVER Cloud says forward deployed engineers sent directly into the field will develop AI agents that automate repetitive logistics tasks and identify new AI projects using logistics data.

Why it matters: it is a concrete example of the defense work NAVER Cloud's FDE leadership described in an interview a day earlier, and a reminder that defense and other closed-network customers are a growing destination for FDEs, where security procedures and on-site work are part of the job.
