OpenAI Forum sets a Nov 19 life sciences deep dive with four of its forward deployed engineers
OpenAI Forum will host "How OpenAI is Accelerating Life Sciences: A Forward Deployed Engineering Deep Dive" on November 19, 2026 (6:15–7:00 PM GMT), where OpenAI FDEs from its life sciences team discuss R&D, clinical and regulatory work with pharma and biotech partners, followed by audience Q&A.
OpenAI Forum has scheduled a public session for November 19, 2026, from 6:15 to 7:00 PM GMT, focused on the life sciences work of OpenAI's Forward Deployed Engineering team. Zach Parent, an FDE on OpenAI's Presence team who works with large financial services companies, will moderate, and the session ends with an audience Q&A.
The panel is made up of FDEs from the life sciences team: Pearson Henri, who leads life sciences work within FDE and builds AI workflows for research and clinical development groups at pharma and biotech companies; Claire Martin, a former clinical researcher who works on clinical trial operations; and Chris Hayduk, who focuses on early-stage drug discovery and fundamental biology.
For engineers weighing the role, the speaker list is itself the signal: OpenAI is staffing industry-specific FDE pods, and at least one member came from clinical research rather than software. It follows the team's Oct 22 Forum panel with FDE head Colin Jarvis, and is a chance to hear how domain knowledge and engineering are split on a real vertical FDE team.
