PhysicsX opens an Asia-Pacific hub in Singapore and plans to hire forward-deployed engineers

Industrial AI company PhysicsX launched a Singapore hub on 8 October and aims to grow its team there from 20 to more than 100 over three years, including forward-deployed engineers, physics AI researchers and simulation engineers.

PhysicsX, the London-founded company that applies AI to industrial engineering, has opened an Asia-Pacific hub in Singapore with support from Temasek and the Singapore Economic Development Board. The hub already has 20 people, and the company says it wants more than 100 there within three years.

Forward-deployed engineers are named first in that hiring plan, alongside physics AI researchers and simulation engineers. The expansion also comes with a five-year, S$40 million partnership with the research agency A*STAR, and follows PhysicsX's $300 million Series C in June 2026, which valued it at $2.4 billion according to The Straits Times.

For FDEs, this is a sign the role is spreading beyond software and enterprise agents into heavy industry, where engineers work with manufacturers and shipbuilders on simulation and design problems. It also adds another serious FDE employer in Singapore, alongside a growing number of AI deployment teams in Asia-Pacific.
