RELEX puts forward-deployed engineers behind its new agentic supply-chain platform
RELEX Solutions unveiled agentic orchestration capabilities for its RELEX Open platform on Nov 2, and said its forward-deployed engineers built a European food retailer's first custom capability in days and had it in production within weeks.
Supply-chain and retail planning vendor RELEX Solutions announced new agentic capabilities for RELEX Open on November 2. The platform opens RELEX's forecasting, replenishment, merchandising and pricing tools to outside systems and agents through APIs, MCP and plugins, adds an orchestration layer so agents in different functions can share context, and sits on a shared knowledge graph of how a company's processes, teams and KPIs relate.
The release names forward-deployed engineers as part of how the platform gets extended. RELEX says its FDEs are working with a large European food retailer on several use cases, including a supplier planning problem with constraints specific to that retailer. According to the company, the first capability was developed within days and was in production within weeks.
Why it matters for FDEs: RELEX is another established enterprise software vendor, not an AI lab, using forward-deployed engineers to turn an extensible platform into customer-specific software. Work like this, building on a vendor's APIs and data model inside one customer's operating constraints, is a growing share of FDE roles outside the big AI companies. The speed figures are RELEX's own claims and have not been independently verified.
