Revel opens a Summer 2027 Forward Deployed Engineer software internship in Los Angeles and San Francisco

Hardware-control startup Revel is hiring paid, on-site FDE interns for June–August 2027 to write C/C++/Python/Rust, integrate with customer test stands and sensors, and occasionally travel to aerospace, automotive, energy and manufacturing sites.

Revel, which builds software for controlling critical hardware in aerospace, automotive, energy and manufacturing, has posted a paid Summer 2027 internship for Forward Deployed Engineers in Los Angeles or San Francisco. The role sits with Revel's FDE and software teams and is framed as hands-on customer deployment work, not a classroom project.

Interns are expected to write production-quality code in C, C++, Python or Rust, build tools and dashboards for hardware monitoring, help integrate Revel with test stands, sensors and actuators, and translate field learnings back into the product. Occasional customer-site travel is part of the job, and applicants must meet ITAR eligibility (US citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee).

For people trying to break into forward deployed work, this is another early-career path next to lab and cloud FDE internships: the customer is a hardware engineering team, the stack is systems and embedded-adjacent, and the deliverable is software that runs on real machines.
