SMFL launches personalized SaaS built by forward deployed engineers on Replit vibe coding

Mitsui Sumitomo Finance & Leasing (SMFL) began offering enterprise “personalized SaaS” on 4 November 2026: its FDEs embed with customers, prototype on Replit, and ship per-company apps — claiming a job that once needed six people for about six months finished by one person in a week in an assetforce customization trial.

According to IT Leaders (5 November 2026), SMFL started providing a “corporate personalized SaaS” service that uses Replit’s cloud IDE plus SMFL’s “enterprise vibe coding” method. Forward Deployed Engineers enter the customer’s operations, build prototypes, gather feedback, and iterate; application data sits on SMFL’s assetforce asset database.

SMFL says generative AI does not return identical code each time, so a quality-management agent runs deterministic tests against the spec, and SMFL engineers make the final call. One internal assetforce customization that was estimated at six people for about six months was completed by a single SMFL staffer in a week; a 200-plus-screen fixed-asset accounting rewrite is expected to cut post-requirements development and test time to about one-third.

Replit co-founder and CEO Amjad Masad appeared with SMFL president Tetsuro Imaeda at the announcement. SMFL also plans to offer Replit licenses and enterprise training. The FDE angle is explicit: customer-site engineers, not a remote factory, own the per-user application.
