Square Peg backs Future Secure AI, whose forward-deployed teams build and run enterprise “AI Co-Workers”

Australian VC Square Peg is backing Future Secure AI, which sells AI Co-Workers for regulated, multi-system workflows and delivers them through a forward-deployed team of senior ex-consultants and engineers.

Square Peg published investment notes on Future Secure AI, a company founded in 2023 by former McKinsey partner Mehrdad Baghai and former Macquarie banker Michael Hunter. Future Secure designs, builds and runs “AI Co-Workers”: multi-agent systems, each with a name and a place on the org chart, that carry out whole business processes such as month-end close, tax calculations, reconciliations and customer service inside a customer's existing systems.

The investor singles out the delivery model as “the other half of the product.” Future Secure sells top-down to executives and boards, and a forward-deployed team of senior ex-consultants and engineers then scopes, builds and operates the Co-Workers alongside the customer's own staff, with deterministic logic and human review where a language model alone is not enough.

Why it matters for FDEs: Square Peg's stated thesis is that enterprise AI adoption will be a blend of product and services, won by companies that both define the problem and own delivery. It is another sign that investors now treat forward-deployed teams as core to the business rather than a cost centre, especially for regulated work like finance, tax and legal billing.
