Thomson Reuters’ Nov 6 FDE board: eight CoCounsel, Legal and Tax seats, engineer base $109K–$340K
A 6 November FDE Dispatch read of Thomson Reuters’ Workday board found eight Forward Deployed–family seats—five engineer and three management—across CoCounsel, Legal Products and Tax and Audit, with every engineer seat posting a USD base range spanning $109,000–$340,000 and Hybrid labels on all eight.
FDE Dispatch’s 6 November guide, built from a 3 November public-board snapshot and a 6 November live Workday check, counts eight Thomson Reuters FDE-family postings—tied for 16th among 114 employers in that cut. Five are engineer titles spanning CoCounsel, Legal Products and Tax and Audit; three are management. All eight were labeled Hybrid, and none counted as remote under the site’s locations method.
Posted US base bands on the engineer seats run from Senior Legal Engineer at $109,000–$203,000 to Principal Software Engineer / Architect AI, CoCounsel FDE at $183,100–$340,000. Senior Software Engineer seats on CoCounsel and Tax and Audit sit in the mid-$100Ks to mid-$200Ks, and ask for 5+ years of software engineering plus at least two years shipping AI/ML or LLM apps, with Python, RAG and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph named in the texts.
The vertical split matters for candidates: Legal Engineer asks for legal practice or legal-tech experience and a JD/LLB preferred; Tax and Audit AI Engineer asks for accounting or audit depth with CPA, EA or CIA credentials or equivalent. On the 6 November re-check, seven of eight snapshot seats were still open; the Legal AI Solutions Manager seat had closed, while newer CoCounsel FDE seats had appeared that are not in the 3 November totals.
For FDEs, this is a rare legal/tax AI board that posts pay on every seat and treats evals and domain credentials as first-class requirements—not an afterthought next to RAG pipelines.
