YC startup Arzana raises $4.3M seed to grow its forward-deployed engineering team for factories
Arzana, which builds AI agents that automate quoting, order entry and invoicing for American manufacturers, raised a $4.3 million seed led by Sunshine Lake VC and says it will expand its AI and forward-deployed engineering teams.
Arzana, a New York startup from Y Combinator's Spring 2026 batch, has raised a $4.3 million seed round led by Sunshine Lake VC, with Fjor, Robinhood Ventures, Precursor Ventures, Founders Future and Y Combinator participating. The company says the money will go toward expanding its AI and forward-deployed engineering teams, its go-to-market, and new manufacturing verticals.
Arzana trains custom models on each factory's own historical data and deploys agents that handle front-office work such as quoting, order entry and invoicing. It runs on top of the manufacturer's existing ERP system, including Epicor, NetSuite and Microsoft Dynamics 365, rather than replacing it. The company says it has processed more than 100,000 purchase orders at 99.9% accuracy, serving paper, plastics, packaging, mold and tool, and metallurgy customers, and it keeps field offices in Appleton, Wisconsin and Okoboji, Iowa.
Why it matters for FDEs: it is a good example of the FDE model spreading well beyond AI labs into small vertical AI companies. Here the work means integrating with legacy ERP systems and messy, customer-specific workflows on factory floors in the American Midwest, and the team is still small enough that early FDE hires will shape how deployment is done.
