Yonyou puts FDEs in its Q3 report: a forward deployed engineering team for steel and energy, paid on results
Chinese enterprise software maker Yonyou (600588.SH) says in its 2026 Q3 report that it has formed a forward deployed engineer team that co-creates with customers, provides ongoing service and charges based on results. The company credits the team, focused on steel and energy, with lifting AI-related contract signings.
Yonyou Network's 2026 third-quarter report, carried in full by Shanghai Securities News, says the company has stepped up its "intelligence and data frontier services" business by forming an FDE (forward deployed engineer) team. The team works with customers on their specific business and management scenarios, keeps serving them after go-live, and is paid based on results. Yonyou says the team concentrates on steel and energy, has driven AI-related contract signings, and is pushing FDE services toward standardised supply at scale.
The numbers around it are notable. For the first nine months, Yonyou reported revenue of about 5.76 billion yuan (up 3.06%), AI-related contract signings of 1.54 billion yuan (up 108.6%) and AI-related revenue of 760 million yuan (up 275.4%). The company is still loss-making.
Many FDE mentions in Chinese markets so far have come in investor-relations Q&As. Here a major listed software vendor names an FDE team in a periodic report and ties it to outcome-based pricing. For engineers, it signals FDE demand inside heavy-industry ERP and AI rollouts, where the job is embedding with customers and being judged on the results delivered.
