AbbVie, Franklin Templeton, Baker Tilly and Sportradar among 9 companies that posted their first FDE roles Oct 27-30
Nextmove's twice-weekly tracker says nine employers posted a forward deployed role for the first time between October 27 and 30, including AbbVie, Altana, Baker Tilly, Eragon, Franklin Templeton, Insulet, Locus Robotics, Medra and Sportradar.
Nextmove's latest update of its "new employers" tracker lists nine companies whose job boards carried a forward deployed title for the first time between Tuesday, October 27 and Friday, October 30, 2026. The tracker only counts companies whose boards it had already been reading for at least 30 days, so the list reflects new hiring decisions rather than newly indexed employers.
The mix stretches well beyond AI startups. Drugmaker AbbVie posted a Technical Lead for Forward Deployed Engineering in North Chicago, accounting firm Baker Tilly a Forward Deployed AI Engineer across a dozen West Coast offices, Franklin Templeton a Forward Deployed AI Engineer in Hyderabad, and medical device maker Insulet a Forward Deployed Data Engineer in Massachusetts or San Diego. Sportradar opened a Forward Deployed AI Engineer role in Warsaw, Locus Robotics one in Wilmington, MA, and Medra a Forward Deployed Robotics Engineer, while Altana and Eragon are hiring deployment strategists.
For FDEs, the takeaway is that the role keeps spreading into pharma, finance, professional services, medtech and robotics. Nine first-time employers in a four-day window sits at the upper end of Nextmove's recent pace, where the median week has had about 14 new companies.
