GSK, PagerDuty and Jade Global among 8 companies that posted their first Forward Deployed Engineer roles between 16 and 20 October
Nextmove's twice-weekly tracker found eight employers opening forward deployed roles for the first time in that window, including fastino.ai, GSK, Jade Global, Nimble Gravity, PagerDuty and Persona.
Job site Nextmove's latest update of its "new employers" list, checked on October 20, counts eight companies that posted a forward deployed role for the first time between Friday, October 16 and Tuesday, October 20. Named examples include fastino.ai (Forward Deployed Engineer, San Francisco Bay Area), GSK (Principal, Forward Deployed Engineer, London), Jade Global (Forward Deployed Engineer - Architect, San Jose), Nimble Gravity (Director, Forward Deployed Engineering, remote in LATAM or the US), PagerDuty (Forward Deployed Engineer, London) and Persona.
Nextmove only counts companies whose job boards it had already been reading for at least 30 days, so the list reflects new hiring decisions rather than wider coverage. Over the last eight complete weeks, between 9 and 17 companies posted their first forward deployed role each week, with a median of 13.
For FDEs, the mix is the interesting part: a global pharma company, an incident-management SaaS vendor and an IT services firm are now hiring under the FDE title, not just AI labs and startups. Nextmove notes that one posting is one opening and doesn't by itself mean a company is building a full team, but first postings like these are often where founding or early FDE seats appear.
