Salesforce commits $1B to Spain, with a Madrid AI Implementation Team of forward deployed engineers

Salesforce says it will invest $1 billion in Spain over five years and has named Madrid its EMEA South hub. The new Madrid headquarters will house an AI Implementation Team of forward deployed engineers working with Spanish customers, plus a center that trains graduates from across EMEA South for a year before sending them back to their home markets.

Salesforce announced on October 19 that it will invest $1 billion in Spain over the next five years. It opened a new five-floor headquarters on Madrid's Paseo de la Castellana and named the city the hub for its EMEA South region.

For FDEs, the key piece is a dedicated AI Implementation Team at the Madrid site. Salesforce says the team has two jobs. It will bring together forward deployed engineers who work directly with Spanish customers to design and deploy agentic use cases, and it will run a regional center for recruiting and training top graduates.

Graduates from across EMEA South, a region Salesforce says covers more than 90 countries, will spend a year in intensive training in Spain. Then they go back to their home countries to build local AI implementation capacity one market at a time. That makes Madrid a training pipeline for deployment engineers, not just a sales office.

The move fits Salesforce's wider push to grow its FDE organization around Agentforce, which includes plans to double its UK FDE team and an invite-only partner FDE network. Salesforce is already advertising Forward Deployed Engineer roles in Madrid and Barcelona.
