Accenture and Workday launch a joint Forward Deployed Engineering program for HR and finance AI agents
On October 13, Accenture and Workday announced a joint FDE program that embeds engineers with client HR and finance teams to put Workday agentic capabilities into production, then feeds those learnings back into Workday’s product.
Accenture and Workday announced on October 13 a joint forward deployed engineering program aimed at HR and finance. Accenture engineers will sit with client teams, work inside their processes, data, policies and controls, and help bring Workday agents into production faster.
The partnership is not only client delivery. Accenture engineers will also work with Workday’s product and technology teams to build new agentic capabilities on the platform, creating a feedback loop between live enterprise deployments and product innovation. Accenture says the program draws on its own experience deploying and extending Workday’s agentic capabilities at enterprise scale.
For FDEs, this is another large systems integrator pairing with a core enterprise SaaS platform and putting the forward deployed model at the center of agentic AI rollouts in two of the most regulated business functions. Julie Sweet and Aneel Bhusri both framed the goal as moving customers from AI experiments to running payroll, close, and related workflows on production agents.
