Salesforce takes its partner FDE program to South Africa, with over 1,000 partner FDEs certified worldwide
Salesforce ran its first Forward Deployed Engineer partner training in Johannesburg on 5-7 October 2026, extending an invite-only network that has certified more than 1,000 partner FDEs across 140 firms.
Salesforce held its first Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) partner workshop in South Africa, a three-day, hands-on session in Johannesburg from 5 to 7 October 2026. Nine partners, including large systems integrators and specialist consultancies, are now part of Salesforce's FDE Network in the country.
The bar to get in is high. Delegates complete about 80 hours of prerequisite learning and certifications (including Agentforce Specialist and Data 360 Consultant) before attending, then must prove their skills on real work before earning Agentforce FDE Practitioner status. The curriculum covers designing and building agents, then evaluating, deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting and scaling them.
Salesforce says the global partner program has already certified more than 1,000 partner FDEs across the Americas, EMEA, APAC and LATAM, spanning 140 partner firms.
Why it matters for FDEs: vendors are no longer only hiring FDEs in-house; they are training and credentialing them inside partner consultancies. That widens where FDE jobs exist (systems integrators, regional partners, new markets) and makes vendor-specific FDE certifications a new signal on a CV.
